What’s New with Shared Branching
June 9, 2020
By Trisha Wiggin-Fausnaugh, Operations Manager
With all the emphasis on new delivery channels, it’s easy to forget that many members still prefer banking in person. Shared branching gives your members that option nearly anywhere they are. In fact, CO-OP Shared Branch now offers more branches than any bank. Nationwide, accessibility to shared branching continues to grow.
In January 2020 our 105 acquiring credit unions did over 380,000 financial transactions for over $360 million for guest members. And members from our participating credit unions did over $353 million in transactions at shared branches, over $100 million of which were done outside of our six-state area.
Our credit unions opened 11 new branches in 2019 with more branches on the way this year.
